This 1954 promo for the Nutrilite supplement is well produced and typifies a long tradition for MLMs and related scams. Bitcoin follows the same tradition.
Both pivot on a false idea of super-condensation. The product is EXTREMELY valuable because it’s EXTREMELY condensed.
Condensed products are a wonderful idea, making extended storage and savings possible. Condensed soup or instant coffee, just add water. Condensed fiction (book or radio), just add imagination. Condensed currency is storable in the same way as cans or books.

Nutrilite takes the condensation too far. Pack all nutrition into a capsule. The Nutrilite film goes into great detail on the long chain of condensation, starting with compost and manure, growing the alfalfa and watercress, harvesting only the top part, chopping, drying, distilling the nutrients, packing into capsules.
Digestion doesn’t work that way. We derive nutrition from TEAMWORK. A trillion bacteria are working in an intricate dance with a dozen organs, chewing up FIBERS and analyzing necessary proteins and starch from the FIBERS. When the team doesn’t get a chance to work, it atrophies and turns to disease.

Value doesn’t work that way. We derive value from TEAMWORK. Later, after hearing the Nutrilite spiel again, I missed the important difference between the two scams.
Nutrilite capsules are: The supercomplex supersecret Nutrilite alfalfa concentrate plus ordinary vitamins. In other words what you’re getting is an ordinary vitamin tablet with a superexpensive spiel.
Bitcoin blocks are: The supercomplex supersecret Bitcoin hashing concentrate plus an ordinary entry in a list. In other words what you’re getting is NOTHING AT ALL with a superexpensive spiel.
Difference: Nutrilite is an overpriced something. Bitcoin is an overpriced nothing.
