All Foy, no Pollocks now

Demi Pietchell interviews artist Michael Newberry.

The headline mentions money laundering, but the discussion isn’t mainly about money laundering. It’s mainly about the Deepstate psyop of avant-garde art. The later history of the psyop is known, thanks to the Assange leaks of CIA documents. CIA sponsored and granted avant-garde visual shit and “progressive” jazz. The publicly stated purpose was to demonstrate to those horrible Commies that we have freedom here. The real purpose was to destroy our brains.

Newberry has been in the art world for a long time and knows some of the perpetrators. He tells us that the avant-garde monsters have the same purpose as CIA, which isn’t a secret. The avantgardists, starting with Duchamp in 1910, have been proudly telling us that they intend to destroy the universe. It’s not surprising that CIA picked them up as tools for the same purpose. CIA lovingly cherishes and nurtures all psychopaths. CIA also uses its front businesses to move money around for its own purposes, but that’s not the primary goal.

Newberry makes one sharp point that I hadn’t thought about. We know what happens when “scientists” become torturers. Sane people give up on all of science. He says the same thing happened in the 1920s when abstract shit and Dada shit became fashionable. Many people decided that art was not worth seeing or doing. He’s convinced that the value of beauty and order is permanently lost.

Some of them will give up on art altogether. The next time they think of a museum they don’t go because it will just throttle their brain. Art is the frontrunner of dystopia. When you see destructive art you know that the culture is being destroyed.

2020 did the same thing to science.

Science literally THROTTLES AND STRANGLES US.

Science imprisons and starves and binds and gags us. Science deprives us of work and social contact and food and oxygen. Why should we trust a perfectly evil criminal? Why should we join the evil criminal’s side?

Newberry seems to think that the value of art is permanently lost. The exact opposite is true! We have a huge explosion of PARTICIPATION in real art.

The Foy Rebellion is running full speed in visual art. It’s not firmly underway in science and tech yet.

Look at Instagram and Tiktok. NOBODY is competing to create Pollock shit or Picasso ugliness or “installations”. Everyone is competing to make MORE BEAUTY AND MORE ORDER. Makeup and clothing are an increase in beauty and order by literal definition.

The purpose of life is to increase beauty and order. The purpose of art is to increase beauty and order beyond life’s natural increase.

So Newberry’s observation that art led the parade into chaos is equally true on the parade back into order and beauty.

Unfortunately most defenders of beauty are missing the Tiktok explosion from the other angle. They are just as elitist and contemptuous as the avantgardists. Reprinting from a few months ago:

The cultural preservers continually focus on giant cathedrals that took hundreds of years to build. This Twitter item says “we built that”. No we didn’t. The we who built it lived in an entirely different cultural and economic system. There’s no way we could recover the system that made such monuments possible, and such monuments wouldn’t be available to ordinary people even if we could.

I’d rather focus on architectural beauty in a much closer context both spatially and temporally. We could return to this type of beauty, and a few contractors are still doing it.

Last night I was randomly checking Zillow’s listings for Ponca. Noticed this big house at 413 N. 3rd. The address sounded close to Grandma’s former apartment, and the house looked familiar. Is it the Folly House? Not quite. It’s next door to the Folly House.

Here’s the corner side of the Folly House as it was seen from Grandma’s front porch. A beautiful stone fish pond, with colorful tropical fish, was in front of the bay window, and I remember a display window in the wall next to the bay window. The fish pond looked like this fountain. The display featured a variety of beautiful objects. Looking at it now, I don’t see where the display window could have been; maybe the bay window itself held the displays.

Fantastically elegant and beautiful. It didn’t take hundreds of years and thousands of priest-whipped slaves; it was built by ordinary highly skilled carpenters in the 1920s and sold to ordinary upper-middle citizens. The grandchildren of those carpenters and purchasers are still around. You can buy it now for $180k, which won’t even buy a tent in most cities. (The third picture shows an airing closet.)

Grandma’s apartment looked similar but less grandiose before it was remodeled into modernity. Same varnished wood, same refined arches and cabinets.

FANTASTIC ELEGANCE WAS NORMAL in those days. I didn’t think it was anything peculiar or rare, though I did appreciate it. Grandma’s apt rented for $50 a month in the 60s, equivalent to $400 now.
