In this case the president really MEANT to deport some illegals, and the bureaucrats were convinced that he meant it.

Later and calmer: I should be glad the “journalists” are incurably stupid and self-destructive as well as indescribably evil. If they were practical politicians, they would understand that immigration is ruining their own party’s candidate, and they would BOOST this microstep in the right direction instead of mourning it. The same goes for the more serious actions by the stock regulators, breaking up monopolies and clamping down on speculators. Those steps will truly help to solve inequality. “Journalists” mindlessly hate EVERYTHING that could possibly relieve the plight of peasants, even if the relief would assist their own party and give them more profit.
