Not so bad

Maybe AI is a good thing after all.

Lever News, a ‘progressive’ site, pulls together some facts about a side of AI we normally don’t consider. The data centers for AI servers are adding a huge load to electric grids, and the electric utilities are keeping coal power running to satisfy the need.

Instead, data companies began to eye places like Iowa, Georgia, and nearby Prince William County, Maryland — where residents like Ward warn that similar problems are on the horizon. Critics say the Digital Gateway proposal alone will require at least three gigawatts of electricity, or the equivalent of the power demand of 750,000 homes. “Where is that power coming from?” Ward asked the Board of Supervisors.

This insatiable hunger for power is slowing the transition to green energy. When the owner of two coal-fired power plants in Maryland filed plans to close last year, PJM asked them to keep running till at least 2028 to ensure grid reliability. Meanwhile, AI is also being used to actively increase fossil fuel production. Shell, for example, has aggressively deployed AI to find and produce deep-sea oil.

Lever News thinks these are bad things. More coal means the utilities are finally giving up on the crazy frauds of wind and solar “power”, which were mainly driven by venture capitalists burning Bernanke’s devilmoney. Now that Powell has stopped the devilmoney, the crazy frauds are collapsing.

Maybe this will finally lead to a real boom in modular nukes? A server farm with its own modular nuke wouldn’t NEED the local grid and thus wouldn’t deprive real people of power. I doubt this will happen because Google and Amazon and Altman WANT TO DEPRIVE REAL PEOPLE OF POWER. That’s how the Tech Demons get their rocks off. Steal skills, steal intellectual property, steal power, steal souls.

Shell is unsurprising. Big oil has always been at the sharp end of hi-tech. Finding likely geology is HARD, and the latest electronic equipment assists the search. If AI doesn’t help, Shell will give it up. Big Oil is not crazy.

Lever News shoves aside the REAL evil of AI, the fully intended replacement of all humans so Sam Altman can be the sole occupant of the universe. These unquenchable psychopaths have been working toward their infinitely evil goal since the ’60s.

On the financial side of AI, one of Adam Taggart’s realistic analysts says many companies are now seeing through the hype. They’re getting tired of pouring billions into Altman’s pocket with insufficient returns for their own Share Value.
