Haven’t seen one of these in a while.

The business of building AI centers IS why it’s so hard to build ANYTHING ELSE in America. When construction serves the needs of Altman or Fink or Zuck, it gets built fast and easy, no permits, no litigation. Anything else needs 20 years of permitting and licensing and litigation.
Good example here in the neighborhood. TDS Fiberoptic, a tech that serves AI, has been sloppily tearing up the streets, leaving huge unfilled and unwarned holes in yards and pavement, with no complaints or inspections from the city. Three years ago Avista dug up the same streets and yards for unfashionable gas lines, with much more precision and restoration, and no obvious safety hazards. New houses need constant inspection and interference from the Gaian devils of the Zoning Board.
