Genocide awards

Business Blunders writes about Fisker, one of the thousands of QE swindlers who took advantage of the free money flowing through idiot VCs. Fisker has run up fake companies many times and pulled them into bankruptcy many times.

Why would anybody buy a car from this guy? He already had a history of patting folks down for money and then stiffing them in bankruptcy court.

Customers eventually reported sudden loss of braking power, key fobs that locked them in and out of their vehicle, faulty seat sensors, and even a front hood flying open at high speeds. Additionally, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began investigating the car’s ability to shift between gears.

Safety doesn’t sell. Only coolness sells, especially on Wall Street.

Sudden loss of braking power has been a perpetual safety hazard ever since Chrysler introduced hydraulic brakes. Hudson solved it perfectly and NOBODY ELSE HAS EVER FOLLOWED THE LEAD. When Hudson switched to hydraulic in 1936, they did it the right way, with an automatic backup by mechanical cables. NOBODY EVER COPIED IT, not even AMC after it finished its obligation to its bought-out Hudson dealers.

Other Hudson innovations were widely copied. The 1922 Essex was smart marketing, the first closed car at an affordable price. GM followed suit after seeing Hudson’s success. The 1948 Stepdown was quickly duplicated by everyone because LONG AND LOW SELLS. Safety doesn’t sell, so the failsafe brake system, a perfectly simple lifesaver that could have been rigged by a good backyard mechanic, was NEVER duplicated. Now we’re going backwards as fucking usual.

Wall Street loves 2024 software tech because it kills even more than 1924 hydraulic tech. The Dow is a genocide award ceremony.

Thanks to Powell the flow of genocide seekers has been slowed down.
