LePen is not “far-right”, whatever that means. She’s French. She’s just like DeGaulle. We called him “commie” because he frustrated our imperial lunacy. Now we call her “far-right” because she wants to frustrate our imperial lunacy.

China is emphatically not Communist. China is Chinese. Mao adopted some of the trappings of Marxism, but after he died China immediately returned to being Chinese. Extremely capitalist, focused on trading and betting and competition. Extremely mercantilist, colonizing the rest of the world, sometimes for resources and sometimes for customers. China was always that way, except briefly during Mao. And from a Chinese loooooooooooong-term perspective, the 25 years of Mao’s rule were a picosecond.

The variable is most perfectly exposed with Russia. From 1946 to 1990 we hated Russia because it was commie. Then we invaded and ruined Russia to transform it from commie to capitalist. Now it’s capitalist. Now we hate Putin because he’s “far-right”. Nothing has changed except our fake label. We hate Russia because it’s Russian.
