In hot weather I’m not trying to do any tech history items or serious items. Will make do with occasional stupid takes.
Today’s stupid take: Somebody posted a pic of a kid drinking a Coke. Wrote “Poor kid probably got diabetes in 2nd grade.”
Nope, it didn’t work that way. We consumed HUGE amounts of sugar. I drank soda pop all day, added two spoons of sugar to each bowl of cereal and glass of ice tea. Only a FEW people had congenital diabetes, maybe 1 out of 100. We didn’t get sugar lows or sugar highs.
What’s the diff? Most people blame high-fructose corn and GMO and ultra-processed foods and 5G radiation.
It’s simple. We used up the sugar fast. We were always outside running around and riding bikes and causing trouble. Modern kids are inside playing videogames.
Input vs output. Sugar is needed when you’re burning it. It’s bad when you’re not burning it.
