Looks like PALACE COUP is becoming the counterpart to JANUARY 6 VIOLENT INSURRECTION.
Both are endlessly repeated standard phrases. Both are absolute nonsense.
The “insurrection” was a brief protest in the capitol, where somebody is protesting every day. The “coup” was a political party performing its ORDINARY DUTY after 50 years of slacking.
When a party chooses a different candidate, it’s not illegal and not a coup in any sense.
It’s unusual because both parties gave up the DUTY of choosing candidates after 1968, turning to a hereditary monarchy where the current King serves until after he dies.
Again and again and again, the British system works properly. The prime minister is NOT the king, he’s just an executive chosen by the board of the majority party. When the exec runs the company badly, the board chooses a different exec. No fuss, no muss, no fake “criminal” proceedings needed. The former exec stays on the board while someone else takes a turn.
We should be glad that a party has RETURNED to performing its job. All governments and institutions and corporations have been making rules to prevent themselves from doing their jobs. Standard Non-Operating Procedures. Now the D party has abandoned one of its self-blocking rules.
