Basic rule of business AND government: If you want to make money from humans, you need to offer a quality product that people want or need, a product that people believe they can USE.
Governments and corporations formerly offered quality products, made by real people here in the same city or country. Government products included oil leases, electricity from hydro dams, streets, and police. Real people appreciate those products and are willing to pay both user fees and taxes in exchange for the products.
Since 1980 governments reversed their field and started DESTROYING useful products. Tear down the dams, let the streets decay, defund and disempower the police. They also stopped collecting taxes and user fees, relying solely on debt. Government provided only two services, war and tyranny. Those services give sexual pleasure to the dirty dozen billionaires, who now reward the POLITICIANS, not the treasury.
Both sides of the former two-way transaction are gone, replaced by a new private transaction between the politicians themselves and the billionaires. Politicians are the whores, government is the pimp.**
