I’m infinitely tired of “conservatives” calling China communist. China is just Chinese.
In terms of ideology, China is mercantilist, not communist. China is EXACTLY REPEATING what Britain did in the 1800s. Britain was the world’s factory, sweatshopping millions of peasants for low wages. Britain colonized tropical countries for resources, letting the countries run their own cultures and helping them to develop their resources. Britain quasi-colonized other countries to serve as customers.
Britain was using its North American colonies mainly as customers. We rebelled against Britain’s refusal to let us run our own companies.
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
The analogy goes one more step. China’s resource colonies are mostly former British resource colonies, and its customer colonies are former British customer colonies (eg USA). China didn’t bother with the former French colonies in Africa because they’re too dysfunctional to work with.
