Somebody wrote an opinion piece proposing that the Repooflicans should get rid of Trump now that the Dems have buried Biden’s corpse. I didn’t read the article because I knew the reasons would be entirely backwards and crazy.
On a strategic level the proposal makes good sense. Trump is such a horrible candidate that he could only win against an actual corpse. Now that the opponent is alive, the horrible Trump is no longer comparatively tolerable to non-cultists.
Harris is not only alive, she has a real record of accomplishing some of the FDRish tasks that real Democrats and real left-leaning independents appreciate. She aided the police and fought crime. She constrained the big banks. Both FDRish, the exact opposite of modern shared D/R goals of enriching the rich and killing the poor.
