BreakingPoints does word-association polls on candidates. The responses from partisans are meaningless. Partisans are simulcasters, each faithfully retransmitting today’s Official Program from DNC or RNC Network Central. Responses from independents are more salient.
The top response to Harris is Incompetent, followed by variations on Fake. I can see the Fake. She’s been a standard politician since turning to national office, running with the crowd in speeches. Before going national she was not a crowd-runner. She fought for cops and against crime, which is Extreme Unthink for both parties. Both parties love crime and hate police.
I can’t see Incompetent at all. Whether you agree with her actions or not, she’s unquestionably competent. Incompetent must be originating from some media that I’m no longer hooked into.
If I had to pick one word at this point, I’d go with Suitable or Tolerable. Sounds like faint praise, but it’s a Nobel Prize by comparison with all other candidates of the last 20 years. All other politicians are DEADLY. Every measurement is made from a baseline, not in an ideal absolute reference frame.
