WRONG, asshole.

Stupid headline in Compact:

Tariffs aren’t a manufacturing cure-all

Yes they are, asshole. The most effective tariff is a .45 tariff. Instant death for the entire executive board and all shareholders, direct or indirect, of any corporation that imports one molecule of manufactured products, or employs or offshores one picosecond of labor from overseas.

The only permissible imports are raw materials that don’t exist here, or crops that can’t be grown here like coffee. If a mineral exists here in commercial quantities but the miners have been destroyed by EPA and free trade, the corporation MUST reactivate mining.

MANY countries have followed this policy though not quite as intensely as I’d like. In fact MOST successful countries had ferocious local content laws. When they gave up the local content laws under demonic US influence, they lost their economic success. That’s why we did it. We ruin economies everywhere including our own.

Before 1970 US had strict enough local content laws, plus a corporate culture biased toward keeping things local. Nixon broke the world, then Reagan and Clinton and the Bushes finished the obliteration.
