Comparing with Romney

Right now the Repooflicans are wildly supporting the contradictory team of Trump and RFK, tossing 1950 insults at Harris.

Compare with Romney vs Obama in 2012. Romney was hated for GOOD REASONS. He had spent his career destroying jobs and businesses. Romney spouted the old 50s era slogans, which were already obsolete. He had no chance against a young Obama who was IN TOUCH with modern reality.

Under the surface, of course, both were the same. Obama belonged to the bankers and billionaires. His rise to power was sponsored by the billionaire Pritzker family, and he continued implementing Bush’s TARP and QE, bailing out the billionaires. The main point of dispute in the 2012 campaign was Obamacare, which was Romneycare rebranded.

But at the level of personalities and campaigning, the choice was clear. Obsolete vs up to date.

Now the Repoofs have suddenly reverted to the old obsolete slogans, which nobody under 60 even understands.

There may be a real difference this time, though it’s not clear yet. The Biden admin took genuine action against the bankers and hedge funds, and Harris seems inclined to continue. Her earlier experience as California AG was unquestionably superior. She actually fought crime, while Trump IS crime. He allowed the 2020 BLM riots, and signed some “prison reform” bills that are soft on crime.

Of course he ALSO committed the biggest crime in history, which is now utterly memoryholed by all sides. He enriched the rich and killed the poor more effectively than any president in the last 100 years.

The teaming of Trump and RFK parallels the teaming of Wilson and Bryan in 1912. Bryan made his political career out of fakely opposing the bankers and globalists, then led his followers off the cliff and joined the Wilson admin, where he helped set up the League of Nations. RFK made his bones by opposing Trump’s “virus” tyranny. Now he’s joining the Trump admin where he may be put in charge of HHS to supervise the next tyranny.
