If you really want to talk about illegitimate elections, immigrants are irrelevant, mail-in votes are irrelevant, and cheating on the count is irrelevant.
Start with one huge fact.
48 of the states are illegal.
Only Maine and Nebraska obey the Constitution. The Electoral College was always a terrible idea, but its original plan was at least more rational than the current arrangement. Electors were meant as proxies for Congress, free from the personal tastes of the actual representative. Each was supposed to vote with his district. Maine and Nebraska follow this plan. All the others cheat by assigning ALL the electors to the candidate who gets a majority in the WHOLE state, regardless of district. This is a nonsensical way to make any choice, let alone a supposedly important choice.
