Dams are failing in Tennessee. This is a straightforward result of spending all our money on war and destruction and NONE AT ALL on repairing or building. Year after year congress passes trillion-dollar appropriations for “infrastructure” but NONE of that money actually goes toward building or repairing. Most of it ends up in the pockets of the billionaires who bought the details of the law. Fine investment! Spend a few million on politicians, get a few billion in return. Those bills should be called Infradestructure Bills.
FDR’s Tennessee Valley Authority built many of those dams, enabling new industries and prosperous cities with the reliable power generated by those dams. FDR would be ashamed of post-1968 leaders who focus entirely on bombing foreign countries and ripping up this country.
