4 years ago, I watched some conservative friends join the QAnon cult to find companionship and a community for their children. Today, I’m watching some liberal friends join the anti-Semite cult to find the same thing.

Well, if companionship and respect were more available OUTSIDE of cults, cults wouldn’t flourish. Cults are a sign of a broken society.

The same rule of availability applies in less emotional areas like money. When interest is available on savings, people save for the future and rely on their savings. When interest is zero, get-rich-quick schemes and frauds like bitcoin flourish, and only the swindlers succeed. Bitcoin started at the same time as ZIRP, which is not a coincidence. Bitcoin is a cult and a swindle at the same time, also not a coincidence.
