Well, the media and Wall Street got what they wanted. Now they can have fun for four years, and the empire can decay even faster for four years.
I hope and pray that harsher rulers and nastier media and more destructive billionaires will speed up the growth of effective alternatives and bottom-up organizations like Mutual Benefit Societies. When things appear to be marginally tolerable, alternatives don’t develop as fast. Obvious rot causes more people to give up on “fixing” a completely unfixable system and focus on building better systems. Personally, when the obvious rot was LOUD AND CLEAR in 2020, my own focus was stronger for sure.
As I’ve been pointing out for a long time, the nastiest part of the US “system” is its total lack of feedback and adaptation. Most political systems have an EASY way to get rid of a bad leader fairly fast. In parliamentary systems the prime minister is chosen by the majority party, which can and DOES kick out a leader who isn’t working for the majority FOR ANY REASON. No criminal proceedings needed, no “election”, no shame for the leader. The board simply appoints a new chairman. And the majority party can be kicked out if the other parties gain enough real popular strength to call a snap election. This can also happen at any time, not just every four years.
Here we’re STUCK with a bad leader for four years, with absolutely no way to remove him.

A bit later, the refocus provided a nice burst of GIT-R-DONE productive energy, just like 2020. Got me UNstuck on an upcoming courseware project.
