Two weird responses

There are two bizarre responses to Biden pardoning his son. We expect Repoofs to treat it as unique, just as Dems treat everything Trump does as unique, EXCEPT for the ONE HUGE MONSTROUS HISTORY-ENDING UNIQUE CRIME OF IMPRISONING AND STRANGLING AND CLOSING THE ENTIRE FUCKING COUNTRY, which both “sides” have completely memoryholed now. Didn’t happen.

One of the weird responses came from a nonpartisan type who called it unprecedented for a peculiar contrived legalistic reason that I couldn’t even follow. It’s perfectly precedented and perfectly PRESIDENTED. Every president since Ford has played this game. I don’t remember famous examples from earlier presidents, but they probably did it without as much media coverage.

The other is “any dad would do it”. Wrong in two ways. (1) Presidents and judges are NOT SUPPOSED to act like dads in their official duties. They can do what they want with their kids as long as it’s not official. (2) Some parents are perfectly happy to let their son take official punishment because they dislike the son and want to see him punished. My father was happy to use my 1969 jail time as cover for his own career failure. I didn’t learn about this until after he died.
