Obama COULD have fixed this.

Violence does sometimes work. When the entire political and court system is totally fucked, doing nothing but pure damage EVERYWHERE, ruining people here and bombing foreign countries, there’s no other option. Other insurers are starting to change their ways to avoid the same fate.

Obama knows how to run a movement, but the one time he had the chance to bring back FDR, he gave all the power to Wall Street.

In 2010 he had the PERFECT chance to do Medicare For All. He had political momentum, support from a wide range of people beyond the usual partisan and racial boundaries, and huge dissatisfaction with the existing anti-health system. Instead of Medicare For All, he gave us Romneycare, designed by Heritage and implemented by Wall Streeter Mitt Romney. He made the system worse instead of better.

His neighborhood organizing talent didn’t matter at that point. HE WAS IN THE DRIVER’S SEAT. Instead of turning onto the path that EVERY OTHER NATION USES, the path that UNQUESTIONABLY MAKES PEOPLE HEALTHIER with much less drain on the total economy, he steered the entire system into a brick wall.

He also had a chance to reimpose FDR’s restrictions on Wall Street itself. Instead, he continued the Bush monstrosity of ZIRP and TARP and QE, handing trillions and trillions to the Dow and killing the rest of the country.

When the system gets a perfect chance to do the right thing and CONSISTENTLY does the worst possible thing, people outside the system WILL start to do the right thing. When local and state and federal governments refuse to prosecute crime at every level, from neighborhood violence to Wall Street, vigilantes WILL prosecute crime.

If the system doesn’t want vigilantes to grow, in theory it COULD fix the problems. FDR fixed all the problems that government could fix, and the outlaws and revolutionary movements faded away because they WEREN’T NECESSARY. It happened before, so historically it’s not just theory. It can’t happen now. We’re stuck with four years of even worse Wall Street control, thanks to the ultimate NYC robber baron and fraudster.
