Jimmy didn’t accomplish anything positive. He started the trend of deregulating and deconstructing the New Deal, which was carried forward by every president since then. In 2008 the destruction was done, and real economics was also done.
The good thing: Jimmy was the last normal human in the White House. Normal humans are fairly rare. In the last century, Harding, Coolidge, Truman and Jimmy were normal. All the rest, good or bad, were devoted to a life of power.
Truman was probably the most normal of the four. He regretted some of his actions because he belatedly recognized that Deepstate had blackmailed and hoodwinked him into serving its evil purposes. He tried to be as normal as possible afterward, returning to KC, driving his own car and living his own life.
Abnormal isn’t necessarily bad. Ike and FDR were accustomed to exerting power and manipulating bureaucrats. FDR used his connections and expertise perfectly, solving every problem that politics could solve. Ike used his expertise to block evil, not to create new solutions. He pulled out of one war and prevented Deepstate from starting new wars.
