Facebook has decided to stop using DNC censors, falsely called “fact-checkers”. The check in this phrase is the original etymological meaning as in checkmate. Check means stop the opponent’s move.

If he means it, this brings Facebook closer to the ideal of the Common Carrier. The old pre-digital landline phone system was a true Common Carrier. Bell had no way to monitor or checkmate everyone at once. When ordered, Bell would allow FBI to tap specific phones for specific investigations.
