Aside from that

Protos features the California wildfires from the standard Gaian perspective.

Fueled by high winds and months of drought,

Reality: Southern California has centuries of drought broken by occasional rainy seasons. It’s a desert. Every coastal area has high winds sometimes.

Protos also covers the tragedy as seen by the “crypto community”.

= = = = = START QUOTE:

As well as threatening millions of California residents, the rapidly spreading blazes are threatening several crypto companies and prominent community members. Indeed, a number have already lost their homes and belongings, including precious hardware wallets.

Aside from that, Mrs Lincoln…

Reality: There’s no such thing as a crypto company. The whole thing is a swindle and a crime. The “crypto community” used to be called gangs of con-men. Hardware wallets have no value at all, and the miners are using up TRULY PRECIOUS water and energy to commit crimes and impoverish young desperate men.

Deeper reality: In programming terms, bitcoin is just an array of structs. More familiarly, it’s just a spreadsheet. Real banks and businesses USE spreadsheets to keep track of their REAL inputs and outputs, but no real business would think of selling one row of a spreadsheet. When you buy a bitcoin, you own one row of a spreadsheet. The number at left is your “title deed”, and you have the privilege of filling in the other cells with other data. You can’t use one item of a written list for any real purpose. You can’t eat it, can’t grow crops on it, can’t live in it, can’t put it in your gas tank. You can only hope that an even stupider idiot will be willing to pay you MORE for the meaningless privilege of owning a row.
