Some people are posting videos of arsonists starting fires in LA during the current mess. Not surprising. A couple years ago we had several big fires close to Spokane. Most were started by homeless cooking fires, but two were definitely arson. The arsonists were spotted by many people walking along the road tossing matches into the brush.
Global warming? Fuck. There will always be fires in dry areas. The recent huge increase in fires is a direct result of two OTHER government policies, not our horrible “failure” to kill all plants by eliminating all carbon dioxide exhaled by humans and animals.
The two OTHER policies, seemingly separate in purpose:
1. The “inmate rights” movement, starting in the 70s and championed by both Teddy Kennedy and Reagan, eliminated involuntary commitment for the insane and turned them loose into the general population, sometimes controlled by Haldol but often not. This was NOT a favor to the insane, who ended up as victims of non-crazy criminals, while committing their own crimes because they lived in a different reality. In the institutions they were protected, fed and housed; though some institutions certainly did a poor job. The correct answer was to improve the poor institutions, not to turn the people loose.
2. Offshoring, removal of all industry, turning the entire economy into perfect heaven for a dozen billionaires and perfect hell for everyone else. Also started in the 70s, pioneered by Nixon and advanced by every president since then. Ordinary men can no longer count on supporting a family and living decently. The monstrous increase in housing prices in the last 7 years brought this to a peak.
By some mysterious coincidence, both of these movements were sponsored and pioneered by the same politicians who gave us the environmental holocaust, starting with Nixon.
Of course it’s not really a coincidence when ALL politicians agree TOTALLY on the same hellish goal and work in PERFECT UNISON to destroy civilization.
