Computer logic is sometimes like Dog Logic.
I ordered a unique old gadget from a store in England on Ebay. It was sold by auction, which I normally avoid, but this was so unique that it was worth the trouble (and admittedly a little positive thrill!).
The auction finished at noon on Tuesday here. I was the only bidder so I won and paid. Noon here is 8PM in England. Checking the actual tracking via Ebay, the seller shipped it on Wed morning, which is fast for a small business.
Just now, Thursday morning here, Royal Mail (a very impressive logo!) sent an email stating firmly that they had delivered the package and hoped I was happy.
Of course it’s not here. There’s no way an item shipped Wednesday morning could cross the Atlantic, cross the US to Washington, get onto a truck, and get delivered here by Thursday morning. Even Amazon couldn’t do it. Maybe Royal Mail delivered it to the export terminal now, but not here.
I hope it wasn’t sent to the wrong address! I want to use it for a tech history piece.
