Continued thought about Tiktok, Rednote, etc. As I noted yesterday, the net provides REAL opportunities for people in different countries to get to know each other. This has been happening for years, especially on video-oriented media like Youtube. It shouldn’t be a surprise that American and Chinese youngsters are meeting and talking and learning about other cultures on Tiktok and now Rednote.
The only egregious and annoying part of the situation is the SHOCKED SHOCKED SHOCKED response by our Deepstate. For 20 years Deepstate has been TELLING us that the net is meant for international fellowship and peace. Now that people are using it for the allegedly intended purpose, Deepstate finally admits the REAL purpose, which was perfectly obvious to anyone who knows that the net was developed by and for NSA.
If Deepstate was smart, it would ENCOURAGE this cross-border communication, as the government did before 1946. Thanks to FDR, people had CONFIDENCE in our system. FDR had reformed it so it worked for ordinary people, in order to avert a revolution by real Fascists or real Communists.
In 1932 many Americans were looking at Russia and Germany and seeing systems that worked better than ours. The same fucking thing is happening now. Americans are looking at other countries, from Africa to China, and OBSERVING THE PLAIN AND SIMPLE FACT that their systems work better than ours.
The reason for our current inferiority is exactly the same as the reason in 1932. Wall Street has been ruining us for 40 years. China has a stock market but doesn’t let it ruin things.
