Since 2008 the Dems have been concentrating SOLELY on cultivating billionaires. They had a great product in Obama, but he ruined his own chances by approving TARP to enrich the billionaires. Hillary is a shitty product. Everyone knew it. Biden is even shittier. Everyone knew it. They were competing against a unique product, a fraudulent gangster with tremendous charisma and cult power who breaks every promise to his working-class suckers.
Obama is NOT a gangster, but he also broke every promise and worked for Wall Street, so he had no advantage. Hillary and Biden didn’t even bother to promise anything. They were atrocious products that nobody wanted. The party had developed a fine line of options and accessories, the high-performance Lina Khan and Jonathan Kanter antitrust engines, but they refused to ADVERTISE the accessories, and attached them to a rusty old hulk up on blocks.
The proper way to compete is pretty clear. Find a product with enough glamor to stand out in today’s visual short-attention world, but with a solid record of helping ordinary people. Bernie was the best example. He unquestionably had the same level of charisma and crowd appeal as Trump, but not cultish. The party knocked Bernie down with transparently obvious rigging and cheating.
If the party had started developing and cultivating products in the research lab of state governors after 2008, younger alternatives could also have been available in 2016.
Now the entire effort is wasted. After 16 years of absolute loyalty to the billionaires while ruining their real products, THE BILLIONAIRES HAVE ABANDONED THE PARTY AND JOINED TRUMP.
Perfect failure from every angle. Lost the loyalty of normal people who are CAPABLE of loyalty. Sucked up to the psychopaths who then did what psychopaths always do.
Moral of the story: Just copy FDR. Do what he did. No innovation or modification needed.
