Noticing a repeat of a very old rule. Back in the 60s I was listening to shortwave from various countries. It was clear that Britain and Russia and Portugal had a more objective view of Vietnam than any of our politicians or media.
Now I’m getting the same clarity from Canada. Looking at CTV and CBC on Youtube, Canadians of both sides understand Trump better than our internal sides. The Canadians recognize above all that Trump is a noisemaker. He spews out a vast array of conflicting and exaggerated claims and promises, then ends up doing more or less the same as previous US rulers. They ignore most of his noise and try to look closely at the PEOPLE he chooses to handle tariffs and industrial policy.
I don’t see any realism in either “side” of our media and activists. One side is screeching the same old meaningless nonsense words about Democracy and January6 and Fascism. The other side is prostrate with supplication to The Thrice Crucified Jesus Trump Our Personal Lord And Saviour Amen.
