Good proposals, won’t happen.

The Edelman outfit has done its annual Trust Barometer. In nearly all countries, normal people hate their leaders of all types. Needless to say, rich fuckheads trust other rich fuckheads, but humans distrust all rich fuckheads.

Edelman describes the facts correctly, and even proposes some pretty good solutions. Listen, respect, stop fucking people over, try paying them for work instead of kicking them when they’re down. Edelman warns that the danger factor is high, just as it was in 1932. Revolutions are brewing or ready to brew nearly everywhere, like 1932.

Edelman says clearly that corporations should take the lead in solving the problem. They don’t add “because governments and other institutions are incurably destructive”, but they don’t really need to add it.

Will anything change? I doubt it. And according to the survey, 60% of the world shares my pessimism.

Later: I didn’t notice the most important VARIABLE in the worldwide Edelman survey results. The VARIABLE is pretty damn consistent. People in the BRICS countries trust their leaders and institutions far more than people in the Axis or Five Eyes countries. Africa and India and China trust their leaders. US and EU and UK hate our leaders.

Who is ruling with the consent of the governed BY FUCKING DEFINITION? Who are the democracies BY FUCKING DEFINITION? Exactly the countries that we BLAME AND FRAME for our own egregious unforgivable sins.
