No sympathy

I note that the “mayor” in Spokane has joined other “mayors” in a court brief opposing Trump’s cuts to research funding. No sympathy.

The corruption of federal funding has been blatantly obvious and perfectly well known inside academia. Everybody knows it and everybody keeps taking it. For christ’s fucking sake, EISENHOWER warned about it in 1960. My dad was complaining about it at the same time. I’ve been writing about it steadily on this blog since 2005.

There have ALWAYS been other ways to get funding for WORTHY research, most importantly from industry. Before the Share Value coup in 1980, every industry did active and genuine research to solve its own problems. The big labs like Bell branched out into many other areas, always with a focus on solving problems. Even mid-size companies had their own research facilities.

Crowdfunding and mutual benefit funding were also prominent. Some of the best optics and acoustics research, and some of Marconi’s work, were funded by Trinity House, a mutual insurer for ships founded by Henry VIII and still running today. The March of Dimes was a crowdfund in the modern sense.

In 2015 I offered to start a crowdfund for a Seattle researcher who had a better solution to the NON-PROBLEM of algae in lakes, which has been fraudulently illegalized by the demon Gaians. The demon “city” of Spokane has spent 200 million dollars to build swamps in every neighborhood, in order to decrease a few parts per million of phosphate that might have been escaping into a lake where it might spawn algae that might help to absorb CO2. In other words we are serving Gaia by increasing CO2. The researcher quickly rejected my proposal, preferring to seek the federal funding because that’s where the PRESTIGE is. Academia is about STATUS, not money.

Canada has made the RIGHT decision when faced with a cutoff of the US corruption. Academia COULD make the right decision. It could listen to Eisenhower and Marconi and Bell and a hundred thousand other scientists who were NOT funded by Deepstate spies and corruptors.

Will they make the right decision? I doubt it.

Prestige, or rather RELIGIOUS PURITY, counts far more than money, and you don’t get prestige from crowdfunding. Some of the money might be contaminated with Deplorable cooties.

Jenner and Salk and Morse and Bell and Faraday and Marconi didn’t work that way. They got the money, solved the problem, and THEN got the prestige.

Industrial research has moved to China now, thanks to our universities training Chinese researchers in the 80s. It takes time to build up a facility. Good research builds on skills developed inside the same lab. We destroyed 100 years of stability and skill-building when we treasonously killed Bell Labs.
