Is Trump Ike?

Trump is placing sanctions against two of the main ‘warlords’ in the Congo. DRC has been engaged in a deadly internal civil war for DECADES, and we’ve totally ignored it because we couldn’t use it as a proxy in our endless mindless attack on Russia. We hate Russia because Russia is the country we hate. Russia has never attacked us, so we eternally punish them for their non-sins. We only support countries that attack us. We are crazy.

This small action starts to remind me of Eisenhower. He didn’t dissolve any agencies as Harding did. Ike pulled out of Korea and then took steps to moderate Deepstate’s proxy war against Russia. He made carefully calculated moves to signal support and opposition for various factions, always trying to encourage peace and discourage war, without sending any troops or cultivating any revolutions.

Looking back in the blog, Trump started to make similar moves in 2017 and I made a similar comparison. Ike refused to help Israel in its 1956 attack on Egypt, and applied economic pressure on Britain to discourage their support for the attack. Trump was similarly refusing support for Israel in Syria. I don’t know if he continued; I have the impression that Trump later went all in with Israel, but maybe not. After 2020 I didn’t feel inclined to see or say anything positive about ANY government, especially TrumpFauci.
