Not sardonic; editing and proofreading were always my strongest skills. I should have stuck with printing and moved into an editing career.
But the official day IS sardonic.
Corporate Trainer Judy Beaver created National Proofreading Day. She chose March 8th, her mother’s birthday, to honor her mother and her love of correcting people.
I used to do that all the time, finally lost the habit of doing it out loud. But I still mentally fix absurd schoolmarm “grammar” when I hear it.
