Several public-facing federal agencies have been taking the Canadian path to handle the psychopaths. Like Trudeau and Carney in Canada, they’re resolutely maintaining a good attitude toward the public even while the psychopath chops and whips their agency.
In fact this is more than good behavior. It’s damn near saintly behavior, reminiscent of the early Christian saints who continued singing and praying while Trump’s role models Nero and Caligula dismembered them.
Good salesmanship has been the same for thousands of years, and the right advice has been available for thousands of years, from the New Testament to Dale Carnegie to Duane Jones to car dealer films.
The Weather Bureau was doing the wrong thing in Trump’s first term. After a couple weeks to be sure he didn’t really mean it, they pushed harder than ever on Gaian screechery, treating every storm as evidence of TrumpClimateEmergency. They calmed down during Biden, and this time they’re staying calm. Doing their JOB, predicting storms, and trying for a bit of light-hearted levity in their twitter feed. (Spring is almost here! Social Security is doing the right thing. Though they still have weird rules, they made a point of sending a paper letter after my last online info request, making sure I know they’re available for more info.
The local congressman is doing the right thing. In his emails he states clearly that he’s here to serve everyone whether we voted for him or not, and offers his staff to serve as an ombudsman in dealing with gov’t agencies. McMorris never tried to sell.
Most corporations and ALL journalists are still spitting on the public. I doubt that journalists are capable of good behavior. They’re unsalvageable to put it mildly.
So far the city and state dysgovernments haven’t learned either.
Doing the right thing won’t make a difference for the partisan types. Partisans hate the government when it’s run by Other Horrible Party and love the gov’t when it’s run by My Holy Party. Deeds and actions are irrelevant to a Team Member.
