Carney starts this speech with all options are on the table. He’s using the phrase oppositely from US leaders. When we say all options, we’re preparing to attack an innocent country that tried to be friendly. Trump is continuing the classic US mode with his attack on Canada. Canada hasn’t attacked us since 1812, and has been an extremely loyal friend and servant.
Carney’s options are FDR’s options. He is proposing to REBUILD Canada’s infrastructure, corrupted by several decades of US slavery. His measures, if properly implemented, will RETURN Canada to the economic independence it enjoyed before the first “free trade” monstrosity in 1965.

Related: The Canadian Conservative party is falling into the same trap as our Democrats with their endless shouting about “democracy”. Trudeau escaped from normal politics when he decided to start doing the right thing. For decades both parties in both countries were firmly committed to the same wrong things. Globalism, war, surveillance, offshoring. Each took its turn making silly complaints but never disagreeing with the main direction. Repooflicans tried to bring down Bill Clinton with the Monica scandals, then tried to bring down Hillary with the Benghazi scandals. Democrats tried to bring down Trump with “insurrection” and “democracy”. Normal people don’t care about scandals. Normal people care about real problems in real life. Trudeau and Carney have turned toward the PRODUCTIVE path of national pride and useful work. The turn gave Poilievre nothing real to complain about. Now the Conservatives are trying to hit Carney with some old charges about plagiarism. NOBODY cares about plagiarism outside of academia and journalism.
If Poilievre was really concerned about changing the agenda, he’d declare victory and go home. He’s accomplished his alleged goal.
