More from Edelman

The outfit that writes the Edelman Trust Barometer has put out a special edition on trust in health and medical matters. Like the general report, it covers a dozen nations with large samples. Most of the result is strongly positive. It shows that normal people in most countries are far saner than the activists of both “sides” think. People are not sheeple. They went along to survive, not because they agreed with the monsters. Most folks recognize, intuitively or informedly, that activism accomplishes nothing. Government does what it wants. Period.

Unsurprisingly, people have lost trust much faster since 2020. There’s an even more encouraging difference across age groups. Youngsters are more likely to recognize that the best authorities are NOT inside the world of medicine. They’re more likely to trust uncredentialed and un-peer-reviewed** sources.

The one exception to this broad distrust also makes sense. Most folks trust their own doctor more than any business or government or hospital.

If a doctor or sales clerk or policeman or postman KNOWS who you are, and RESPECTS your individual qualities, the relationship is hugely valuable. Valuable in both personal and monetary ways.

Empathetic connection is rare and precious in the WEFtern countries, more so since the Bush/Trump “virus” intentionally destroyed all connections.

Most corporations and medical facilities lost the connection well before 2020. A few doctors are still empathetic. I got lucky last year and ended up with a good one, after many years of cold hard officialdom and dishonest upselling.

At the bottom of the main page, Edelman gives advice for institutions who want to regain some trust and influence. Every word is correct and perfect. First, stop insulting and condescending. Second, MAKE PERSONAL CONNECTIONS. Unfortunately none of the institutions will even take the first step because they DON’T WANT TO HAVE THE SLIGHTEST INTERACTION WITH DEPLORABLE PEASANTS. Even acknowledging that filthy Negative Externalities might delusionally believe themselves to be “human” is utterly unthinkable.

** Note for clarity: People who have lived inside academia KNOW that peer review simply enforces orthodoxy, doesn’t improve quality. This is an ordinary fact inside, but it’s still an unthinkable heresy outside. I’m glad to see some outsiders grasping it!
