An editorial from a trade journal of commercial radio operators, July 1931.
I’ll put 1931 in italics, then answer with 2025. All of the facts are essentially the same, but the details are different in some cases.
The more I ponder over the reasons for the depression the more perplexed I become. In 1929 we had prosperity, now it is gone. Why? We have not experienced any great calamity, such as war, plague, or revolution.
Now we’ve experienced a fake plague imposed by the bankers, but no war or revolution.
We have more money, larger industrial plants, and greater productivity per man.
Not now; the bankers already abandoned the industrial plants.
Savings accounts are so swollen that banks have reduced interest rates.
True. Reduced to zero for 15 years, then returned to normal for a few years, but about to be reduced to zero again after GREED fires Powell.
Our granaries are filled with wheat, rotting from lack of market.
Not now; the bankers already abandoned most of the grain elevators.
Our warehouses bulge with manufactured products for which there is no sale.
Not now; the bankers already abandoned most of our industry.
In money, natural resources, factories, capacity to produce, and education we are richer than ever before.
Not now; resources have been BLOCKED by enviros working for the bankers, and the other things have been abandoned by the bankers.
Yet we are in the midst of the worst depression in the memory of man. Our fellow citizens who are not of the aristocracy of wealth are starving amidst plenty.
True.
Our children cannot attend school from lack of proper clothing.
Well, now they have Chinese clothing, but they cannot attend school because the bankers closed the schools on account of a fake plague.
WHY? The only reason I find is GREED, the avariciousness of a few to garner and hoard dollars that can never be spent, the pointless desire for wealth and power accompanied by an utter disregard for the welfare of fellow men, the conducting of business to produce maximum profit without thought for the happiness and progress of mankind. Blind, grasping, ignorant, inhuman GREED.
Absolutely true and perfectly expressed.
Why the partial differences? In 1931 we’d been in a depression for 3 years. The writer didn’t know it, but the solution would start in March 1933. In 2025 we’ve been in a depression for 45 years and the bankers have been able to do far more damage. There’s no sign of solutions on the horizon. The alleged opposition party is still utterly useless. They aren’t observing reality or LISTENING to the suffering people because they’re too busy screeching insane nonsense words like “democracy”.
