Here is a perfect illustration of the problem with Democrats and “journalists”. Both are doing everything possible to guarantee that Trump rules forever. Both have forgotten the basic notion of business or “democracy”. In real business or real “democracy” you have several competing choices, each attempting to offer a BETTER PRODUCT that will be PLEASING AND SATISFYING to more people. It doesn’t matter if the voters don’t think the way you think. When you’re forced to rely on customers or voters, you MUST please them. If the competition is more pleasing TO THE VOTERS, your tastes are utterly irrelevant.
First the standard DNC talking points, working hard and effectively to keep Trump in power forever.

It is both objectively true that democracy is the best form of government that should be protected… And that the American electorate is aggressively uninformed. I say this not with judgment or disrespect, just that dating back to 2007 I have done phone banking and knocked on doors in Iowa, New Hampshire, Georgia, California, Nevada, and Arizona, and I will say: My experience has not been that the electorate is making deep and thoughtful choices, as much as just sort of deciding on vibes what they believe.

Angie Schmitt is a (former?) Dem who understands the situation correctly.

People say that. But in this election, voters had lived under both administrations. It wasn’t like a final exam they needed to spend weeks prepping for. They lived it for four years, with both. That is imo a perfectly rational way to vote, based on direct lived experience and we should be able to deliver observable value based on that alone.
So then the question becomes, where did we (democratic leaders really) go wrong? Not, why didn’t the public respond the way we expected.

“Deliver observable value” is a beautiful summation of what businesses and politicians are SUPPOSED to do. Value as OBSERVED by the customers and voters, not value as PERCEIVED by the owner or politician.
