Polls missed again and they’re pretending to reform again.
They didn’t see that Zohran could win. In the big picture polls don’t really matter much. The “election” matters to some extent, at least until Deepstate finds a way to overturn it or blackmail the rebel into submission. Or until the rebel turns out to be a fake as usual.
Still, polls are a billion-dollar business, and predicting is supposed to be the service they provide. They’re not providing the service.
But maybe the naive supposition is wrong. What are pollsters really paid to do? Outsiders think polls are supposed to be good predictors, but most polls are just tools to bring in money. Most predictions about stocks are only meant to drive the price up or down. Politicians appear to use polls the same way. If a poll predicts defeat, more money comes into the campaign.
