How does he benefit? That’s more of a mystery. When he destroyed other countries in the 80s and 90s, he gained a few billion by shorting their currency. So far he doesn’t seem to be aiming in that direction.
Remaining answer: He’s evil. He enjoys destroying the world. Altman and Elon are taking over parts of the broader function, but nobody has replaced Soros in the unique role of breaking the police.
