Starting to do the right thing!

NPR and PBS are appealing to the public to support them, now that congress has cut off their subsidies. The basic fact, ignored by both “sides” to maintain their shared lies, is that NPR and PBS were already commercial, mainly supported by advertising and pledges. Only 15% of NPR’s money was from the government. I don’t know the percent for PBS, but most of their major programs were sponsored for decades.

The networks haven’t served a public purpose for an even longer time. NPR used to pay lip service to fairness, but they lost it around 2012.

I was a LOYAL listener to public radio since 1959, as my own fake political feelings shifted back and forth. I started with KSAC in Manhattan, worked there as a summer intern in high school, and continued using the local NPR stations for background listening wherever I lived. I stopped in 2012 after too much of the programming was partisan.

They’re no different from MSNBC now, so they should get ALL their money from advertising and customers just like the others.
