I decided to add a Thanks Post Office tag since I’ve been defending the PO from Elon and Trump lately. When I used the WordPress editor to apply the tag to all items about the PO, I found about 30 posts over the three years I’ve been in WP. I looked in the old Blogspot blog and found another 30 or so, dating back to 2009.
It’s one of my constant themes because it’s a constant theme of Repooflicans. They’ve been singling out the PO as the Prime Example of bad wasteful government for at least 40 years.
I’ve never had ANY trouble with the PO, either the carriers or the downtown offices.
The PO is the Prime Example of what government SHOULD be doing.
It’s a quiet undramatic infrastructure like city water and sewer. When you turn on a faucet you get water. When you send a letter it reaches its destination.
I’ve had lots of trouble with privately owned infrastructure like Comcast. They’ve been much less reliable than the PO. Comcast is in the stock crime market, so it serves Larry Fink, not customers.
