Lowe’s perfect word

The “two” “sides” are pointlessly arguing about the network decision to drop Colbert. One side says the network was cowardly, the other side says it was brave. (I hardly know who the dude is, since I haven’t watched any TV since 2010 and never watched the late night “comedy” shows either on TV or on the web.)

Rob Lowe of The Ankler wrote and produced hit comedy shows for decades. He knows what audiences want. He’s firmly on the D side when he lets his politics show, but above all he’s REALISTIC.

He says that none of these overly political “comedies” are succeeding because people don’t want HOMEWORK as entertainment. Splendid word. Entertainment is supposed to be an ESCAPE from the idiocy of the real world, not a STUDY SESSION to improve your own idiocy.

He points out that EVERYONE is tired of partisan media. 70% of Rs and 60% of Ds say that media isn’t offering a product worth reading or watching.

Goddamnit, THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE WORKED. Writers and actors and “journalists” were always D, and always hated the censorship. Audiences WATCHED the censored product because it was ENTERTAINMENT, not extra work.
