Machiavelli loves them

Everyone is riled up today, marching in the two assigned Machiavelli ranks, because some dude was killed somewhere. I’ve vaguely heard of the dude, maybe some kind of celebrity in Political Reality TV. These riled-up periods are good for me: they force me to turn away from wasteful scrolling toward creating or resting.

I gave up marching a long time ago. Marching doesn’t change anything. Meaningless sides have been forming armies for thousands of years, resulting in vast numbers of meaningless deaths to defend one dynasty against another dynasty. Marching doesn’t slow the rulers down. Marching excites and strengthens the rulers by wasting our energy.

Don’t assist or resist. DESIST.

Don’t excite the psychopaths by fighting FOR one psychopath or AGAINST another. Just maintain and increase your own strength and skills. Maintain quality in soul and work and neighborhood.

Carver’s antidote to Machiavelli:

START WHERE YOU ARE.
WORK WITH WHAT YOU HAVE.
MAKE SOMETHING OF IT.
NEVER GIVE UP.
