While most of “congress” plays its usual pointless symbol games with nonexistent “debt ceilings” and nonexistent “shutdowns,” some reps in BOTH parties are organizing to protect and improve the Post Office.
They’re concerned that the previous ‘Delivering For America’ agenda is leading to more delays and more costs, not better efficiency. The plan forced more centralizing, causing unnecessary transfers. Centralizing is a delicate balance, helpful up to a point; the plan seems to have gone beyond the optimal point.
They also propose more federal budget and assistance for the Postal Inspectors in dealing with crime. As noted before, armed robberies of mailmen have increased dramatically since the 2020 Bush/Trump holocaust, from 60 a year before 2020 to 600 a year now.
The Post Office is the BEST part of government. For decades the idiot Repooflicans have hated it because it’s good. Now a handful of them are wising up.
