Two sides have flipped. Part of the flip is a fine positive surprise.
The “independent” intellectuals are supine servants of Altman now. They’re happy slaves, competing for the best way to use more of Altman’s demonic products and make Altman richer.
This side of the switch is predictable. The same switch happened earlier with the “independent” rebels against Trump’s 2020 torture regime, who later turned into Trump cultists and Trump employees.
The other side is surprising!
BLOOMBERG!!!! is solidly skeptical about every part of Altman’s craziness, including the superdemonic Effective Altruism. They allow that some unimportant benefits might come from AI, but mostly they see AI as a disaster for the real world.
