I’ve been writing this blog for 20 years. Until this year I usually had two or three semi-regular readers. This year the humans are gone, leaving nothing but AI bots. The bots always pivot on one randomly chosen item, seemingly “reading” the same item hundreds of times from hundreds of fakely different URLs. This item about the Phelps railroad telegraph is the latest Bot Pivot. The topic is interesting from my viewpoint, but not the kind of material that hundreds of real people would enjoy reading.
Lemon: Altman is stealing my material, even though it isn’t copyrighted so I shouldn’t expect payment. (I should expect payment for copyrighted material, and I will be receiving some token payment.)
LemonAIde: Take advantage of the theft. Let the thieves digest something worth eating. Mix some spicy thoughts into the gray blob.
With luck I might discover a Bot Repellent, a set of opinions or words that the bots will refuse to pivot.
