Another “fair” source

I haven’t bothered with ANY news lately while I’m trying to push through a frustrating stage of courseware.

Another “unbiased” source has popped up. Allsides News aggregates the news in three columns, from left, center and right sources. Previous attempts always revealed the standard journalistic viewpoint with hidden assumptions and loaded words, ESPECIALLY on “climate” and “virus”. So far Allsides hasn’t shown the usual DNC crap. I’ll give it a chance. Briefly.

Taking a fresh look made me realize why these balanced outfits are unsatisfying. It’s not the predictable hidden bias, it’s the wasted energy of showing all three columns.

At one time media knew how to find the simple truth. They were FORCED to do it by the FCC. They hated every second of the censorship but they obeyed, and they gave us a usable product for 40 years. They proved that objectivity is possible. In fact it’s fairly easy if you’re conscious of hidden assumptions and loaded words. The truth isn’t always “centered”. In some cases the “right wing” view is true, in some cases the “left wing”. When you’re grounded in reality you don’t need wings.

And now we’re back to the previous item on finding value against a background of drab mass production.
