Imagination, not Intelligence part 2

The silliest point-missers think the I in AI stands for Intelligence, and bash it for “hallucinations” instead of logic.

Nope, the I stands for Imagination. Altman knows what he’s doing and knows who he’s destroying.

There’s no need for a new kind of intelligence. COMPUTERS BEAT RATIONAL INTELLIGENCE CENTURIES AGO. The first mechanical adders were faster at arithmetic, and the first digital computers in 1890 were faster at logic. Computers were capable of complex logic like chess playing 50 years ago. Those horses left the barn before most of us were born.

Altman’s machine replicates human DREAMING, not human LOGIC.

In this morning’s dream someone asked me how to get to A Street. I gave him a ChatGPT answer.

I was seeing this map in my mind:

I told him that A street is two blocks west of here. “Go west, first you cross Cedar, then A, then Greenwood, then Wellesley.”

The location in the dream feels like the west side of Ponca near the little house at 312 Lincoln where I lived in 1974, so I used a Ponca map with renamed streets for the dream map.

Those street names are actually around here, but the real map in Spokane is entirely different:

Repeating again: Altman’s special crime is on the input side, not the output side. Tools have been taking over the repetitive parts of life forever. Previous toolmakers PAID for their materials. A blacksmith paid for his iron and coal and forge. A real printer paid for his ink and paper and lead, and paid royalties when he reproduced copyrighted text. Radio paid royalties when it repeatedly played records. Altman steals EVERYTHING, copyrighted or not, and securitizes it so you can’t tell which parts are stolen.
