LemonADA 3

Damn, this is turning out to be fun!

Lemon: Last night I was thinking about other pointless expenditures caused by ADA, especially the curb cuts in places where there isn’t a sidewalk. Thought derailed to traffic lights with announcements on the Walk cycle. 20, 19, 18, 17, etc.

LemonADA: Well, those lights turned out to be highly useful for all pedestrians. I can tell whether I need to hurry or not, while keeping my attention on the cars. Before the announcements there was no way to judge how long the Walk light would last.

Spiked LemonADA: This morning I started on the next lesson. Dealing with respiration measurements, it includes a stopwatch that turns through two minutes while you count your breaths. I wrote this part a long time ago, and it’s still one of my favorite tricks.

The traffic light inspired a solution. After the usual fiddling I got it working. At first it was doing a NASA countdown: 120, 118, 116, etc. The numbers interfered with counting breaths, so I simplified it down to Starting, tick, tick, tick, … One Minute, tick, tick,… ZERO. Just right.
